JIC Leasing Shanghai’s First New Ship Direct Lease Project Implemented
Recently, JIC Leasing Shanghai’s customized bulk cargo ship built by a domestically famous shipyard was completed and delivered. This is the first new ship direct lease project of JIC Leasing Shanghai.
The lessee of this 56000DWT bulk cargo ship is a Shanghai shipping company. The ship will mainly sail along China’s coast and along the Yangtze River, providing iron ore, coal and coke transportation services for domestic steel companies. Designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute and to be registered under the China Classification Society, this ship offers strengths such as energy conservation, eco-friendliness, strengthened hull bottom, heightened hatch coaming and flexible operations. The fuel consumption of this ship is less than 14 tons a day at an economic navigation speed of 11.5 knots, equivalent to that of 20000DWT ships. Hence, this ship can greatly save the operating costs of transportation enterprises against the high oil prices of today.
JIC Leasing Shanghai will give full play to its financial leasing strength, and continuously support the structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading of the Chinese shipping and shipbuilding industries.
